IT Technician – OceanTech Careers | Job Opening

We are in our next growth phase and are adding a new IT Technician to our team.

Duties:

  • Recondition IT assets using Ocean Tech qualified and documented processes for remarketing to consumer
  • Perform diagnostics of IT assets ranging from PCs, laptops, and some networking equipment, printer/scanners
  • Under supervision, may assist in the destruction of data using data destruction software
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  A+ Certification and N+ Certification is preferred
  • Associates degree in a technical field (i.e. Information Technology, Computer Science, etc.) with either an academic or experiential orientation toward IT refurbishment/ITAD/desktop support a plus
  • 1+ years benchwork experience on fixing/repairing: PC Hardware, laptop hardware, Apple products, networking equipment and hardware diagnosis systems in consumer electronics or related industries preferred
  • Familiar with Data Destruction technologies, (Experience is a plus)
  • Working knowledge of network, PC operating systems, and core software applications

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Moderate noise (i.e. warehouse and/or office with computers, phone, and printers, light foot- traffic, and occasional fork-truck traffic).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs, stand/sit/bend for up to 8 hours per day
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop, and kneel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting is required
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; hours of work Mon-Friday 9-5pm
