END-TO-END Data Center Decommissioning Hub
Safe removal of equipment across hyperscale data centers and colocation facilities with secure data destruction, fully managed logistics, documented chain of custody, standardized reporting, and environmental responsibility. We specialize in multi-site support, coordinating across locations under a single, unified process.
Your Challenge Is Our Expertise
When your organization is facing a data center shutdown, relocation, or consolidation, the stakes are high. From planning to execution, managing a decommissioning project involves coordinating multiple vendors, tracking thousands of assets, and avoiding costly mistakes or security risks. Without a clear, end-to-end approach, the process can become fragmented, exposing your organization to data breaches, audit failures, and lost value.
De-Racking and Physical Teardown
Safe, professional de-installation and removal of servers, racks, networking gear, and cabling, down to the studs:
Removal and processing of all servers, racks, and IT infrastructure
Every asset is logged and labeled at point of removal before it leaves the floor
Full packing and palletization of equipment
Fully documented, secure chain-of-custody on every project, with GPS tracking available so you know where your equipment is at every stage of transport
Lift and Shift Projects
OceanTech manages the physical removal and relocation of IT equipment with minimal disruption to your operations. We handle the logistics so your team can stay focused on the transition.
ITAD integration – Any equipment that does not make the move can be fed directly into OceanTech’s ITAD and value recovery program. Nothing goes to waste, and maximum value is returned on non-usable assets.
Power Equipment Removal
Expert removal of the supporting infrastructure that kept your data center running. This includes safe disconnection, physical extraction, and responsible resale or disposal of large-format power and cooling equipment.
Generators
Power distribution units (PDUs), including in-rack PDUs and floor-mounted distribution systems
HVAC and Cooling equipment removal, including in-room precision cooling units and rooftop condensers, with piping capped or removed as required
If it powered or cooled your data center, we can take it out cleanly and put value back in your pocket.
On-Site Data Sanitization
OceanTech performs on-site data sanitization for organizations that require drives to be wiped or destroyed before leaving the facility. Data destruction is complete and irreversible, with each drive tracked, erasure verified, and comes complete with auditable documentation for your compliance team. Especially critical for healthcare, financial, and government environments.
Tamper-evident documentation for added peace of mind
Achieve the best possible outcome for your assets
When a data center or colocation facility reaches end of life, the hardware left behind still holds value. OceanTech builds a disposition strategy around your equipment to maximize returns while keeping security, compliance, and sustainability front and center.
Quick Response
We pride ourselves in delivering responsive, reliable, white-glove service to complete your project efficiently, on time, and within budget.
High Security
Vehicles and facilities are protected around the clock with layered security, restricted access for authorized personnel, controlled interior zones, and continuous surveillance.

Peace of Mind
No matter the size of your project, your equipment is in experienced hands and handled safely and responsibly every step of the way.
The Decom Process
Effective decommissioning starts with a detailed plan that encompasses all aspects of the shutdown.
The plan should outline the scope of work, identify all assets and dependencies, and create a timeline for each stage of the process.

Data Security Is Non-Negotiable
Level 1 Data Destruction
All data-containing devices undergo compliant software-based erasure using WipeOS’s proprietary data destruction solution. Upon completion, a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) is issued verifying that industry, regulatory, and environmental standards have been met.
No detailed device report is provided at this level.
Level 2 Data Destruction
Devices are erased using WipeOS with full compliance to industry, regulatory, and environmental standards. A detailed report accompanies the project, listing each device’s make, model, serial number, and storage (e.g., hard drive) serial number, along with the Certificate of Destruction (CoD).
Level 3 Data Destruction
All hard drives and data-containing media are physically destroyed. Each project includes a comprehensive report detailing device make, model, serial number, and storage serial number, as well as a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) documenting compliance with all data destruction, regulatory, and environmental standards.
