DeManufacturing Associate/Sorter/Breakdown – OceanTech Careers

JOB PURPOSE

Demanufacturing associates are tasked with breaking down/DeManufacturing and organizing various client IT assets ranging from; servers, tape libraries, network equipment, etc. which will eventually be recycled.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Break down and disassemble client IT assets into individual components and sort into appropriate gaylord of material
  • Processing batteries (i.e. sort and tape) according to R2/Focus Material and Universal Waste requirements
  • Assist Driver with pick-ups, loading boxes, and deliveries to OceanTech (under supervision and as needed)
  • Other general warehouse duties such as organizing, cleaning, special projects, etc.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year Warehouse and/or manufacturing production experience required
  • Proven working knowledge and usage of hand and power tools required
  • Basic knowledge of enterprise and consumer-related electronic products (hardware components/parts), preferred
  • Ability to identify valuable items and materials in IT equipment, a plus
  • Experience in working Pallet jacks, a plus

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment located in NE Minneapolis

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Exposure to moderate noise in a Warehouse setting (i.e. light foot traffic, Forklift traffic, computers, printers, and power tools)
  • Exposure to indoor, moderately environmentally controlled Warehouse (i.e. Heating available, no A/C) with some outdoor exposure during the workday, and some dust/debris from disassembly of client IT assets

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Moderate to heavy lifting is required, ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs
  • Required ability to push/pull a Pallet Jack weighing anywhere between 50-1500 lbs
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and kneel and use hands and fingers to operate a pallet jack and hand/power tools.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance/close vision requirements due to usage of hand/power tools
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; hours of work Mon-Friday 8:30am – 5pm
